Turkey: Permits

Body

You must have your signed permits on hand when you go afield to hunt.

  • New! You may use the MO Hunting app to carry your permits afield.
  • Permits cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • Fall turkey permits may be used in any order, and multiple permits may be filled on the same day

Purchasing Permits

You may purchase your fall turkey hunting permits beginning July 1 using any of the methods below.

  • Over the counter from any permit vendor. Buy early to avoid long lines. No surcharges will be assessed.
  • Online anytime using the e-Permits System at mdc.mo.gov/epermits. Use your credit card. Print your permit at home and have it in hand immediately.
  • From your smartphone using the MO Hunting app.
    Use your credit card. Your valid permit will appear on the app immediately after purchase.
  • By telephone at 800-392-4115. Use your credit card and pay a $1 surcharge. Allow 10 days for delivery.

Two male turkeys or turkeys with a visible beard.

Notes

Only one turkey may be taken during the first week of the season. If you do not take one during the first week, then you may take two during the second or third weeks of the season, but you may not take them both on the same day.

Anyone using a turkey call to assist another hunter must be properly licensed with either a filled or unfilled spring turkey hunting permit.

Youth permit is available for resident and nonresident youth hunters.

Limits

Two turkeys of either sex during the fall turkey season (archery and firearm portions combined). Both may be taken on the same day.

Notes

During the firearms portion of fall turkey season, you may hunt turkeys with firearms except in Dunklin, McDonald, Mississippi, New Madrid, Newton,  Pemiscot, and Scott counties. During the archery portion of fall turkey season, you may hunt turkeys statewide.
