2023 Footnotes

  1. Hunters may take turkeys according to season limits on the Archer's Hunting Permit prior to filling the managed deer hunt quota.
  2. Participants must pay a $10 administrative fee to Jackson County. If chosen for this hunt, please call 816-503-4800 for fee deadlines.
  3. Hunters must attend a pre-hunt orientation; those who do not attend are disqualified.
  4. Hunters are required to hunt from an elevated stand, except for Hunt Nos. 11, 12, and 15 where hunters may be exempt with a note from a physician.
  5. This hunt has limited access. Most hunting units are accessed by boat.
  6. Only first-time deer hunters who have never Telechecked a deer are eligible.
  7. Antlered deer do not have to have at least one antler with at least four points.
  8. Antlered deer must have at least one antler with at least four points.
  9. Antlered deer must have at least one antler with at least four points and have a minimum inside spread of 14 inches.
  10. Only first-time deer hunters 18 years of age and older who have never Telechecked a deer are eligible. Hunters must be accompanied by a mentor during the hunt.
  11. The head from any deer harvested Nov. 12–13 must be taken to a CWD sampling station on the day of harvest (see Page 6).
  12. Only women 18 years of age and older who have never Telechecked a deer may apply. Hunters must provide their own mentor and be accompanied by the mentor during the hunt.
  13. Hunters who require an assistant must provide one.
  14. Hunters must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
  15. Hunters must complete an approved hunter or bowhunter education course to participate.
  16. Hunters must be hunter-education certified to participate in this hunt unless they were born before Jan. 1, 1967.
  17. Only women 18 years of age or older may apply.
  18. Hunters will be accompanied by a mentor.

Limit Codes

When you purchase your managed deer hunting permit, you will receive permits to take the number of deer allowed at the hunt you are attending.

  • A = 1 antlerless deer
  • B = 1 deer of either sex
  • C = 2 deer, but only 1 antlered
  • D = 2 deer, but only 1 antlered; must take and check-in antlerless deer before taking antlered deer
  • E = 2 antlerless deer
  • F = 3 deer, but only 1 antlered
  • G = 3 deer, but only 1 antlered; must take and check-in 1 antlerless deer before taking antlered deer
  • H = 3 antlerless deer
  • I = Managed hunt permits are not available for this hunt. You must purchase archery or firearms permits and abide by season limits. Deer taken at this hunt count toward your season limit.
  • J = 3 deer, but only 1 antlered; must take and check-in 2 antlerless deer before taking antlered deer
