WILDWOOD, Mo. — Children are open to a wealth of knowledge at the preschool age. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) thinks that’s a great time to discover nature. MDC’s Rockwoods Reservation welcomes kids age 4-6 this weekend to a program designed specifically for them. Knee-High Naturalists—Frogs and Toads takes place this Saturday, May 5, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Rockwoods Reservation in Wildwood. The program is free of charge.
Kids will become amphibian adventurers as they learn about what makes frogs and toads so unique. They’ll even have a chance to look at some live animals in person. Young explorers will also walk down to the creek to look for wild amphibians in their natural environments. MDC recommends bringing waterproof shoes and a change of clothes or towels as kids may get up close and personal with nature.
Advanced registration is required by going to tinyurl.com/yar5cshx. Parents and guardians are welcome to bring siblings as well, keeping in mind that this program has been designed for ages 4-6 and that only the children that will be participating should be registered.
Rockwoods Reservation is located at 2751 Glencoe Road, off Highway 109 between I-44 and Highway 100.
