Harrison County Lake

Harrison County Lake is located about 10 miles north of Bethany, just west of Route W.  The lake was built in 1994 as a water supply  and recreational reservoir.  It covers 280 acres, is moderately fertile, and contains several areas with flooded timber which provide excellent fish habitat.  The fishery is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) through a Community Assistance Program (CAP) agreement with Harrison County.  The reservoir was initially stocked by MDC with largemouth bass, redear sunfish, bluegill, and channel catfish.  Crappie (white and black) have also become established in the lake.  The fish population has responded well, with consistent reproduction, high growth rates, and an abundance of quality-sized fish in the creel.
Facilities at the lake include an accessible fishing jetty, a small campground with water and electric hookups, primitive camp sites, shelter house, one boat ramp, fish cleaning station, two small swimming beaches, and privies.  All facilities are maintained and managed by Harrison County.
