Accessibility on conservation areas
The department is removing barriers that prevent people with disabilities from enjoying the outdoors. Throughout the state, construction of new facilities and renovations at older properties are providing access to conservation areas, buildings, and shooting ranges. Web accessibility
The MDC website is designed to comply with the Missouri IT Accessibility Standard, which is based on the federal Section 508 standard for websites, and has been designed according to Missouri's Digital Media Developers accessibility guidelines.
Some of the design features are:
- Text size that responds to the user's preferences
- Links to allow users with visual disabilities to skip over navigation
- Cascading style sheets to format text and layout of pages
- Tables that allow browser software for users with visual disabilities to get data in a meaningful way
If you have an accessibility issue with any part of the MDC website, please contact us so we can help. Let us know what page is not working properly and what browser software you are using.
Employment-related accommodations
The department is committed to providing a workplace where all employees can work to their fullest potential. In doing so, the department provides assistance and support to employees who have disabilities that may affect their ability to perform the essential job functions as defined by the ADA. Employees shall not be discriminated or retaliated against for exercising their rights under this policy.
Prehiring
Any applicant with a disability may request an accommodation for their interview by either contacting the hiring supervisor, Human Resources recruitment specialist, or ADA Coordinator, or completing the Accommodation Request Form.
All reasonable accommodations will be provided without inquiry into an applicant’s disability. The ADA prohibits all disability-related inquiries and medical examinations, even if they are related to the job, prior to an offer of employment.
Post-hiring
At any time during their tenure with the department, employees may request accommodation for a disability. Additional details can be found in the department’s Accommodations: Employee and Public Requests and Grievances policy, which is provided post-hire.
