Warrensburg, MO -- A J.A.K.E.S. Outdoors program to help youngsters sharpen their hunting, fishing and shooting skills will be held 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the University of Central Missouri trap and skeet range in Warrensburg. The range is just west of 501 Road and Division Road.
The free event is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Stealth Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Lunch will be provided. J.A.K.E.S. stands for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship.
Activities will include trap shooting, shotgun patterning, game calling, archery, fishing and more. Shotguns and ammunition will be provided. But participants are also encouraged to bring their own guns and ammunition that they will use in the fall hunting season.
