JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and Grow Native! invites the public to a native plant sale March 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Binder Sports Park Complex in Jefferson City. Shoppers will be able to purchase native plants from each vendor, and volunteers will be available to help load plants into vehicles for any buyers that may need assistance. Some vendors will accept cash, check, or credit card while others will only accept cash or check. Free native plant literature will be available along with garden signs and books for sale. Learn about preordering from select vendors at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/4jQ. Registration for this event is not required.
Before the plant sale, MDC encourages interested parties to attend their event, Designing a Native Wildflower Garden, on March 27 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City. This free event, designed for participants ages 16 and older, will instruct participants on how to plant native potted plants and plugs.
