NWTF, MDC to hold youth outdoors event Sept. 29 in Jasper County

JOPLIN, Mo. – The National Wild Turkey Federation’s (NWTF) Spring River Toms Chapter, with assistance from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), will hold its annual JAKES outdoors event Sept. 29 at Baugh Flight Park, which is located at 6079 Incline Road near the Jasper County community of Reeds. This free event will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Activities included at this event will be sessions in archery, shotgun shooting, predator calling and boating safety. The event is open to kids of all ages. JAKES – Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics, and Sportsmanship – is an NWTF program dedicated to informing, educating and involving youth in wildlife conservation and the wise stewardship of natural resources.
