Wichita, Kan. -- The Missouri Western State University chapter of The Wildlife Society was honored Dec. 10 at the 73rd Annual Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference in Wichita with a plaque and travel scholarship for being named the Outstanding Student Chapter of the year in the north central section of The Wildlife Society, a national professional conservation organization.
Chapter members earned the award with their contributions to research, field work, public outreach programs and training. Many of their activities are done in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation staff in northwest Missouri.
