Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Lake City Shooting Range is offering free assistance to hunters sighting in deer rifles. Hunters will be paired one-on-one with an MDC staff member for assistance. The sessions are by appointment only and will be offered on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Nov. 21.

Hunters will need to bring the rifle and ammunition they plan to use during the hunt. It’s important to sight-in the rifle with the ammunition used during hunting.

Lake City staff is also providing individual training sessions for pistol and shotgun. These sessions are for those who are new to shooting or who want to improve their skills. Participants must bring their own firearm and ammunition. MDC will not provide loaner firearms or ammunition for these sessions.

The sessions are by appointment only. COVID-19 precautions will be observed. For more information or to schedule an appointment for a session, call 816-249-3194. To learn more about MDC’s Lake City Shooting Range, visit https://mdc.mo.gov/lakecity.
