KIRKSVILLE, MO. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) welcomes a new Conservation Educator (CE) to northeast Missouri. In his new role, Luke Noel will work with educators in the above eight counties to introduce students to conservation. Noel brings a variety of education and natural resource experience to MDC. He began his role as Conservation Educator Sept. 16.
Noel holds a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Science and Management from the University of Missouri, with an emphasis in Terrestrial Ecosystems. He previously served as an MDC Community Education Assistant at the Rocky Fork Shooting Range in Boone County and as an Outdoor Education Center Specialist and Range Supervisor at MDC’s Busch Shooting Range and Education Center.
“I am extremely excited for my role as the Northeast Conservation Educator because it has been my goal to be a CE since I was 11,” Noel said. “I have been hunting, fishing, and shooting firearms since I could walk. I’m looking forward to sharing those passions with the public and teaching them how to safely enjoy Missouri’s outdoor resources.”
Noel can be reached at luke.noel@mdc.mo.gov. He’ll be based out of MDC’s Northeast Regional Office in Kirksville.
