SWEET SPRINGS, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), in partnership with the Missouri Hunting Heritage Foundation (MHHF), invites first-time youth hunters, ages 11-17, to a waterfowl clinic, Dec. 13-15, in Saline County.

The event will begin with hunter-education classroom and skills sessions on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon, participants will attend structured shotgun training at a live-fire session on a local shooting range. The event will culminate with a mentored waterfowl hunt on private property Sunday morning. Participants must attend the entire event in order to participate in the hunt portion of the clinic.

Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the entirety of the clinic and each participant must possess proper licenses for a waterfowl hunt. Lunch will be provided on Sunday, but participants are responsible for all other food and lodging. Firearms, ammunition, and waders will be provided for participants, if needed.

This clinic is free to attend, but MHHF requires a $20 refundable deposit to hold the participant’s place in the clinic. Participants must register by Dec. 6 at mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/170408. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
