EMINENCE, Mo. – Family Farm and Forest Landowner Field Day is Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crystal Creek Ranch near Eminence. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), Soil and Water Conservation District, Missouri Farm Bureau, University of Missouri Extension and The Nature Conservancy, this event will feature topics centered on health and wealth for family farms and forests.
Topics include grazing and watering systems, wildlife management, prescribed burning, logging and forest and woodland management techniques, feral hog trapping and black bear research.
“We hope families will join us for fishing, stream science and hay rides,” said Gary Gognat, a MDC resource forester.
Continuing education credit is available for professional timber harvesters and lunch will be provided. Crystal Creek Ranch is located 1.6 miles west of Eminence on Highway E. For more information call (573)226-3616.
