KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Whitetails Unlimited, will offer youth hunters an opportunity to learn about deer biology, management, and hunting tactics followed by a guided hunt at Mark Twain Lake.
The clinic will take place from 3 - 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 at the Mark Twain Lake Bourdreaux Visitor Center. Participants will go through firearms safety, deer biology and management, and hunting tactics. Youth will then sight-in rifles at a shooting range.
From 5 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 youth will have the opportunity to participate in a guided hunt near Indian Creek Access at Mark Twain Lake. Guides and lunch will be provided, and equipment will be available for those who need it.
