JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free workshop on the basics of fly tying on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City. The workshop will provide the tools and expert coaching to use specialized tools to create fly-fishing flies. Registration is required and participants will keep the flies they tie.
MDC invites participants ages 10 years and older to attend the workshop. Participants younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the program. Participants should bring reading glasses if they require them and a curiosity for tying flies. MDC will provide all other equipment and supplies.
