Kansas City, Mo. – Fishing connects family with nature, and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) can connect families with fishing. MDC will offer a free Family Fishing clinic from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center in Blue Springs.
This event for all ages will give participants the knowledge and confidence they need to be successful fishing. MDC will provide all necessary gear and bait. Experts will teach basic fishing skills. Then participants will go fishing with MDC staff and volunteers assisting. Children who attend will be entered in a drawing at summer’s end for a new fishing pole and tackle box.
