Kansas City, Mo. – A muzzle loading firearm is useful for target shooting and hunting. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free class on muzzle loading firearms from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. This class will teach basic skills and equipment needed to use them.
MDC instructors will discuss equipment options, muzzleloader safety, shooting fundamentals, and cleaning and care of the firearm. There is variety in the types of muzzle loading rifles, shotguns, and pistols. Some are antiques or based on historical design, while others are quite modern in design and function. This class will help newcomers learn the options and safe operation of muzzleloaders.
This class is for participants ages 11 and older. COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed. Registration is required. To register, visit https://short.mdc.mo.gov/Ztv.
