St. Joseph, Mo. – Archery, especially target archery, is relatively easy to learn. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will present free archery lessons from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at the Pigeon Hill Conservation Area near St. Joseph.
MDC will provide all equipment needed. The class will be held at the archery range at Pigeon Hill. Instructors will teach parts of bow and arrow, shooting posture, and accuracy tips. Maintenance and safe storage of equipment will also be discussed.
Participants will then try shooting archery at targets on the range. This program is open to participants age 11 and older. Registration is required.
