JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites new turkey hunters to get ready for spring turkey season at an introductory workshop in Jefferson City this March. All ages 8 years and older may register for this event, but children must be accompanied by an adult. This free workshop will take place Saturday, March 18, 1 – 4 p.m.
“Turkey hunting is an exciting way for Missourians of all ages to get outdoors and discover nature,” said Runge Nature Center Manager Kathy Cavender. “This workshop will help new hunters prepare for the coming spring season.”
MDC staff will teach about hunting methods, clothing, scouting, wild turkey biology, and answer questions from participants.
To register for this workshop, call the nature center at (573) 526-5544. For information about permits, regulations, and more details on Missouri’s spring turkey hunting season, visit huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/species/turkey.
