MDC hosts several hunter education skills sessions in central Missouri in October

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to finish their hunter education certification in central Missouri this October. This training session is the final step to becoming hunter education certified, and the class is designed for participants ages 11 and older. MDC staff will be hosting several events throughout the month.

• Oct. 4 in Mexico from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the VFW, 2100 North Jefferson. Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oZf.
• Oct. 8 in Versailles from 6-10 p.m. at Versailles Middle School, 917 West Newton. Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oZg.
• Oct. 11 in Martinsburg from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 203 West Jefferson St. Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oZQ.
• Oct. 11 in Jefferson City from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Runge Conservation Nature Center, 330 Commerce Dr. Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oZd.
• Oct. 18 in Marshall from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dysart Memorial Shooting Complex, 24025 North Saline 65 Highway. Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oZW.

Prior to attending the class, participants will need to complete the knowledge portion of the certification process. To do so, participants can either complete the online version for a fee or fill out the student manual chapter review questions. Those who choose to fill out the student manual chapter review questions will need to bring the booklet to the event for the instructor to review at no cost.
