Warsaw, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a free Mother’s Day crafts session on Saturday, April 23, at the Lost Valley Fish Hatchery in Warsaw. Making cards and nature-based gifts for the holiday on May 8 is the goal of sessions from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is open to youths ages 4 to 15. Space is limited.

The crafts sessions will be a fun way for children to prepare gifts for Mother’s Day with help from MDC staff and volunteers, said Kara Entrop, MDC community education assistant.

“We will have stations set up where youths can make spinner blade earrings and decorate clay heart ornaments with pressed wildflowers,” Entrop said. “We will also have a station to make a card and wrap gifts.”

MDC will provide all materials and coaching. Youths must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. To register for the morning session, visit https://short.mdc.mo.gov/4Us. For the afternoon session, visit https://short.mdc.mo.gov/4Ue.
