WILDWOOD, Mo.—Spending time outdoors has always offered a great opportunity for family bonding. In the spirit of this tradition, the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) is hosting a special Family Day program at Rockwoods Reservation in Wildwood. This free event for all ages is Saturday, August 11 from 9:30 a.m.-1230 p.m.
MDC invites the whole family to participate in a morning of fun activities and discover Missouri’s amazing native wildlife. Families will get a chance to meet live animals, go on a short, guided hike, catch aquatic creatures, and more.
Some snacks will be provided, but participants are also encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the program. Guest should also bring reusable water bottles, sunscreen, and insect repellant. All activities will be within a short walking distance of the visitor’s center which has public restrooms with diaper changing stations. Strollers are also permitted.

The program is free but parents and guardians must register all family members that will be attending using the online registration system at https://tinyurl.com/y8eh6rvc. This is needed so MDC staff can anticipate the age ranges that will be attending.
Rockwoods Reservation is located at 2751 Glencoe Road, off Highway 109 between I-44 and Highway 100.
