COLUMBIA, Mo. —The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will hold a hunter education skills session April 12. The class will take place from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops, located at 3101 Bass Pro Drive in Columbia.
Students will learn how to be safe, responsible hunters in this course, and upon passing an exam, will earn a hunter education certification card.
“Spring turkey season is quickly approaching. Now is a great time to take the class and get certified in hunter education before the spring rush starts. Classes are in high demand and fill up quickly,” said MDC Education Consultant Kim Cole.
The Missouri Hunter Education Skills Session fulfills the second half of the hunter education certification process. To attend this class, students must first complete the Missouri hunter education online course, or the chapter review questions inside the Missouri hunter education student manual. Students must be 11 years old by April 12, 2016. Registrants 16 years-old and younger must present a birth certificate, or other proof of age, at the course.
Attendees must register for this class by April 8. To learn more about Missouri’s hunter education process, or to register for this class, call Kim Cole at 573-815-7901, ext. 3964, or visit http://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/hunter-education-skills-training.
