ALBANY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites area landowners and land managers to a free program on managing forests and woodlands on Oct. 2 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Hundley-Whaley Research Center, 1109 S. Birch St in Albany.
The program will cover basic tree identification, the purpose and methods of forest management, how to perform a timber stand improvement (TSI), and the basics of invasive species identification and control.
There is a field component to this program so participants should dress appropriately for a walk in the woods.
