PALMYRA, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites all ages to discover nature and spend an evening with wildlife from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the gymnasium at Palmyra Elementary School, 500 S. Ashland Ave. No registration is required and all parts of the event are free and open to all ages.
MDC staff will display exhibits on forestry, furbearers, deer, turkey, fisheries, quail, habitat management, and hunter education. Visitors can also check out a Live Snakes of Missouri display, and interact with a stream table, and fishing simulator. Certified professionals will also be on hand to score antlers until 8 p.m. MDC Resource Scientist Jason Isabelle will give a featured presentation on turkey survival and reproduction ecology in the school cafeteria at 7 p.m.
“MDC selects different locations around the state each year to hold these events,” said Conservation Agent Don Clever. “Evening with Wildlife is a way for children and adults to learn about conservation issues. Don’t miss this great opportunity to explore the endless possibilities of the great outdoors.”
Partner organizations and individuals will highlight and answer questions about Missouri’s natural resources.
