A monthly publication about conservation in Missouri. Started in 1938, the printed magazine is free to residents of Missouri.
SPRINGFIELD -- Local primitive skills instructor Regan Bealer will demonstrate the art of flint knapping at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center on Friday, July 26, from 1-5pm and again on Thursday, August 8, from 1-5pm. Stop by to watch him transform simple rocks into artistic and functional points similar to the ones used by early man for arrowheads and other tools. Learning how people used the resources in the past connects us to our history and to the importance of nature in our everyday lives.
No registration is required for these free events, which are open to all ages. For more information, contact the Nature Center at 417-888-4237.
