Kansas City, Mo. – Celebrate the old year out and the new in with nature crafts and displays at two Missouri Department of Conservation sites in the Kansas City area on Saturday, Dec. 30.
- Nature Art: Winter Reflections will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MDC’s Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., in Kansas City. Participants will explore the native habitats in the center’s outdoor garden. They will gather stems, leaves, nuts, berries, and feathers to create artwork with guidance from Discovery Center naturalists. This walk-in program is for all ages. Registration is not required.
- Nature Art: Holiday Crafts and Mulled Cider will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center, 1401 N.W. Park Road, in Blue Springs. Participants can take part in crafts, enjoy mulled cider, and stroll the nature center to learn about Missouri’s native creatures. The outdoor hiking trails will be open, too. This walk-in program is for all ages. Registration is not required.
