MOUND CITY Mo -- Eagles and waterfowl were the main draws at the 33rd annual Eagle Days Dec. 2-4 at the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge near Mound City, Mo. The event was hosted by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) with assistance from other private and public conservation partners.
More than 4,600 visitors took the driving tour through the refuge and 1,250 people attended the captive eagle presentations by the Dickerson Park Zoo staff on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, about 1,000 students and teachers attended eagle programs and refuge tours arranged for participating schools.
