SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- On Sunday, Oct. 7, visitors to the Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Springfield Conservation Nature Center will have a chance to step back in time and learn about the lifestyles of the earliest humans to trek through the Ozarks countryside at “Primitive Skills Day.” At this free event, which is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., people will see demonstrations of flint knapping, bow and arrow construction, basket weaving, fire making and how to make cordage from native plant fibers.
No registration is required for this event, which is open to all ages. For more information, contact the Nature Center at 417-888-4237.
