JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Holidays are a time to spend with friends and family. People are off from work, children are home from school, and friends and family are visiting. Looking for something fun to do? Discover nature at the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Runge Nature Center’s Holiday Happenings Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28.
“Our theme this year is Nature by Design,” said MDC Runge Nature Center Manager Kathy Cavender. “From the subtle sounds of snow falling in the woods to the shapes of trees and hills, winter is a great time to see nature in new ways.”
Discover nature at the free public event through activities for children, teens and adults including I Spy nature games, natural shapes scavenger hunt, winter weed arrangements, stories, crafts, refreshments, and more.
Runge Nature Center is located on Hwy 179 in Jefferson City approximately .5 miles north of Hwy 50.
