JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has named Chris Horn as conservation agent for Cole County. He joined the ranks of Missouri conservation agents after graduating from the MDC Conservation Agent Training Academy Oct. 5.

Originally from Fulton, Horn started his career in law enforcement in 2010 when he joined the Missouri Army National Guard as a military policeman. He spent six years in the Army where he served time in Joplin, Haiti, and Ferguson. He moved into the corrections field in 2012 until 2016 where he worked at both the county and state levels.

Horn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University and is working on a Master of Science degree in Administrative Studies with an emphasis in Homeland Security and Defense.

“I enjoy hunting, hiking, and boating,” Horn said. “Growing up, being outdoors was a huge part of my childhood and I want to ensure that those things I enjoyed are still available for future generations to enjoy. I believe I can help the people in my county because of not only my diverse background, but my willingness and eagerness to help people and educate them about the importance of protecting our natural resources.”

Horn can be reached by email at Christopher.Horn@mdc.mo.gov or by phone at 573-690-6295.
