El Dorado Springs, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host an open house 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the El Dorado Springs office, 1109 S. Main St., just north of U.S. 54. Come celebrate nature and the outdoors with the staff that helps manage the prairies, woodlands and waters in a wildlife-rich area of west central Missouri.
Staff will hold drawings for MDC calendars and books such as “Cooking Wild In Missouri” and “Missouri’s Wild Mushroom.” Attendees can pick up free tree saplings for planting. Kids’ games will be offered. The office also has some wildlife and aquarium displays for visitors to see.
In addition, the office sells nature-related products produced by MDC such as the Natural Events Calendar and books. The open house is a chance to purchase items for Christmas gift giving.
