SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Nature photography is a pastime everyone can enjoy, but using the proper techniques can turn an interesting photo into a picture you’ll want to frame as a keepsake and share with family and friends.

People can get tips from one of Missouri’s top nature photographers Nov. 8 at the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) program “Nature Art: The Photography of Noppadol Paothong.” This free program, which is for ages 12-adult, will be 7-8:30 p.m. at MDC’s Springfield Conservation Nature Center. People can register for this program at:

People can enjoy an evening talking photography with Paothong, who has won a number of photography awards during his career as an MDC photographer, and before that, as a newspaper photographer. Nop’s stories and inspiring photography will instill a deep sense of wonder for Missouri’s outdoor world.

The Springfield Conservation Nature Center is located in southeast Springfield at 4601 S. Nature Center Way. Information about nature center events can be obtained by calling 417-888-4237 or by going to mdc.mo.gov/springfield.
