Annual Prospects Report

This 62-acre lake was renovated in 2010 and restocked with fish in 2012. The Water is very murky with visibility being very limited which makes for harder fishing. Electrofishing surveys show that this lake has a moderate number of largemouth bass with several longer than 15 inches. The crappie population has saw an increase in numbers this past year, but the overall size structure as not seen and improvement as most crappie range in size from 8- to 9-inches, with the occasional fish getting over 10-increase. Fishing the dam and hinge cut tree in the spring and early summer are excellent places to target both largemouth bass and crappie. To effectively fish this area a person should plan on using a kayak/canoe or a boat as access is limited as the dam does not have access to bank fishing. This lake has lotus that actively starts growing in July, so I suggest if you are bank fishing to go early in the year before the lotus takes over the shallow areas. This area offer an ADA covered fishing dock, a concrete boat ramp, an ADA privy, and a large gravel parking lot that offer plenty of room for trucks and trailers.
