Description

Two-Day Trapping Clinic

Join us for a two-day, hands-on trapping clinic designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of trapping, wildlife biology, and responsible trapping practices.

Day One – Indoor Classroom Instruction and Hands-On Learning

The first day will feature an evening training session held indoors at the Missouri Department of Conservation Northeast Regional Office. Instruction will cover trapping regulations, furbearer biology, and the proper use of various types of traps. Participants will also have opportunities for hands-on instruction and demonstrations.

Day Two – Field Training and Practical Experience

On the second day, participants will meet at the Union Ridge Conservation Area maintenance shed, approximately 5 miles north of Greencastle, Missouri.

Participants will experience a working, active trapline through a hayride-style outdoor classroom. The field session will include real-world demonstrations, scenario-based instruction, and hands-on activities. Participants will have the opportunity to observe and practice trapping techniques under actual field conditions.

Additional Information

Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor conditions and active participation in the field.

Drinks and a hot dog lunch will be provided for registered participants.

This clinic is a great opportunity for beginners and anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of trapping, wildlife management, and outdoor skills.
