Natural Features Description:
Big Sugar Creek is a large, intermittent headwater stream that is reminiscent of Ozark streams of southern Missouri with a forested watershed, steep gradient, and some spring flow. Although the creek doesn’t always flow in the summer, numerous pools provide refuges for the stream fishes. Numerous gravel bars support willows, sycamore, and indigo bush. Look and listen for a variety of riparian area birds as well as frogs.
