Description
Missouri offers an impressive range of native plants capable of producing rich, natural color. This workshop provides a guided introduction to creating plant-based dyes using species found throughout the state. Participants will work with wool yarn and cotton fabric to explore the dyeing process from preparation to finished color. After an introduction and preparation in the morning, we will take a short break from 12:00 – 12:30 pm to allow the dyes to set- bring a snack or lunch to eat during this time. After the break, we will reconvene to finish the program. All materials are provided; please wear clothing suitable for hands-on work.
