Join us for a brief overview regarding the sport of dove hunting. Dove hunting season is quickly approaching, and this program will identify what gear is needed, tips for being successful before and during your hunt, the importance of hunting with non-toxic ammunition, and why dove hunting is so popular.

Join Kyle Johnson of Bur Oak Ventures, for a practical approach to basic natural stone hardscape design and installation. In this Curious by Nature episode, we'll learn more about how to DIY small stone walls, dry creek beds, flagstone foot paths and more.

Bow Hunting: This course is designed to help you prepare yourself with a session on bow hunting gear, proper clothing, stands, calls, and techniques to improve your chances of success. We will discuss best bow hunting practices, safety and how bow hunting differs from hunting deer with a rifle. This is a beginner's program. Have you ever wondered about the butterflies in your neighborhood? Can you identify these beautiful creatures from one another? Butterflies bring an array of bright colors that flutter amidst our summer sky. Learn about these winged jewels through an ID quiz and identification techniques for common species that are found throughout Missouri. Gain great tips on how to attract these pollinators to your backyards.

Southwest Missouri offers lots of opportunities to fish and enjoy the outdoors. This virtual river fishing clinic will focus on fishing for bass species in our local waterways! We will talk about locations to fish, strategies, equipment, rules and regulations, and how to catch different species of bass. Your full name is required at registration along with a viable email address as we will be sending you the link to log into the class the day of. The annual soundtrack to summer has emerged! Annual cicadas are a wild-looking and sounding insect. While they aren’t as numerous as their periodical cousins, they certainly make themselves known. Join this month’s creature feature to learn all about this unique creepy crawly!

Creature Feature is a monthly virtual program that aims to educate Missourians about the natural world one species at a time. Register to receive a Webex meeting link to view the program. The meeting link will be sent out a few days before the program as well as the day of the program.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the National Deer Association (NDA) invite landowners and others interested in managing deer on their properties to join them online for a free webinar on establishing and managing food plots for deer and other wildlife in Missouri. Hunters and landowners can then incorporate the information into deer management plans for fall.

This live Zoom webinar on Wildlife Food Plots in Missouri will be held Tuesday, August 25, at 6 p.m. It will begin with a presentation from an NDA outreach specialist followed by MDC and NDA staff answering participants’ questions. The zoom link will be shared with registered participants on Monday, August 24th.
