The Missouri Conservationist and Xplor magazines have reached five generations of my family now that my eight grandchildren are faithful readers. My grandson Dominic, pictured here, has shown the most interest. I believe your publications have planted seeds in my grandchildren, developing in them the knowledge, interest, and attitudes they need as young conservationists. For your efforts since 1938, I am grateful.

I was sorry to hear about Jim Rathert’s passing [Remembering Jim Rathert, September, Page 22]. I lived in Missouri for about 40 years and although I now live in Montana, I still feel myself a native Missourian. I’ve always enjoyed the Missouri Conservationist and I remember enjoying Jim’s photos many years ago in your magazine. Noppadol Paothong, an excellent nature photographer in his own right, sums up Jim’s legacy eloquently in his tribute to Jim and what he loved most, “… loving and caring for nature, the way his images have always been a love letter to it.” Thank you for such an excellent magazine and staff over the years.
