Kids Fish Free in Montauk State Park Saturday, May 2nd. Fishing is from 6:30 am to 8:15 pm. The spring branch will be reserved for kids only, but kids will be allowed to fish the entire park with their free tag. Tags can be obtained from 2pm to 5 pm Friday, 5/1 at the registration tent by the fish cleaning station, or all day Saturday May 2. There will be attendance prizes, free tree seedlings, mobile aquarium, and more. Free hotdog and chip lunch will be from 11-1.

Veterans fish for free at Montauk State Park on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Veterans can pick up their free fishing tag the day of the event at the Dorman Steelman Lodge in Montauk State Park. The spring branch will be reserved for veterans and their family members only. Hooked on Vets will be providing assistance and attendance prizes. Lunch will be provided. Tagged fish will be stocked with prizes available as well.

MDC will provide a staffed archery range and equipment for youth and families to experience the joy of archery on Saturday, May 9th during the Montauk Mill Days at Montauk State Park. No registration required.
