Trumpeter Swan

Small groups of trumpeter swans migrate into Missouri each winter. The birds have staged a comeback in this country after nearly becoming extinct in the 1930s. The birds that visit Missouri are part of a slowly growing Midwestern flock. The most reliable place to see them in winter is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Demonstration Area in St. Charles County.
