Eastern Chipmunk
Cheek pouches bulging with food, an eastern chipmunk peers cautiously from the protective cover of a Virginia creeper vine. Chipmunks spend most of their lives foraging on the forest floor for nuts, seeds and berries. They excavate underground tunnels and chambers for winter cover, nesting sites and food storage. -- Jim Rathert
