LA RUSSELL, Mo. – What’s better than learning from a YouTube video? Learning in a one-on-one setting.
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) along with the Missouri Trapper’s Association will host Mentored Trapping over two days in October. The first day will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, and from 6 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Oct. 4, at Robert E. Talbot Conservation Area, 7031 State Highway 96 in La Russell.

Students will work closely with experts from the trapping field while gaining fundamental knowledge of trapping through a hands-on approach. They will learn skills such as trap setting, skinning, and complete fur handling.
This is an in-the-field experience where students of all ages are guided by expert trappers in both land and water sets.
