Annual Prospects Report
This 118-acre lake may be a good location to focus on crappie this year. Fall trapnetting in 2025 showed good crappie numbers, with nearly half of the sample measuring between 8 and 10 inches. Anglers should focus on removing as many crappie as they can to reduce the population so the remaining crappie can increase in size. 2024 sampling data showed 32% of the largemouth bass were larger than 12 inches in length with 10% above 15 inches. Anglers should focus their harvest on bass less than 12 inches long to keep the bass from overpopulating. Channel catfish were last stocked in 2024. Most of the catfish surveyed are from 15 to 18 inches long. Anglers should use night crawlers or prepared baits fished off the bottom. Bluegill surveys in Brookfield show that most of the fish are 5-7 inches, with very few exceeding 8 inches.
Take highway 11 north of Brookfield approximately 3 miles. the lake entrance will be on the north side of the road.
