KANSAS CITY Mo -- Prescribed fire can help promote native plants on private land including those useful as food and habitat for wildlife. Prescribed fire can also help control unwanted woody plants or trees in grasslands on provate land.
Staff from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will present a workshop for private land owners or managers on usign prescribed fire from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the Conservation Room at the Bass Pro Shop in Independence, 18001 Bass Pro Drive. The workshop will include information on proper techniques and equipment needed to conduct a prescribed fire.
The event is free, but registration is requested by Nov. 30. To register, call 816-622-0900.
