Meadville, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free fishing event 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at the Fountain Grove Conservation Area in Linn and Livingston counties. Veteran anglers or newcomers to fishing are welcome to attend. No registration is necessary, participants can simply stop in and do some fishing.
The event will be held at Pond 3 in the area’s northwest section. MDC will have fishing poles and worms for bait available as loaners. Staff will also be present to assist new anglers. Attendees are welcome to bring their own fishing gear, too.
To reach Pond 3, take Route W south off U.S. 36. Turn west on Bolo Road, then south on Briar Drive to Acorn Drive. Travel west on Acorn Drive and Pond 3 is on the south side of the road.
For more information about the free fishing event, call MDC’s Chillicothe office at 660-6456-6122. MDC also offers fishing classes through the Discover Nature — Fishing program. For more information, visit https://short.mdc.mo.gov/Z4y.
