Xplor reconnects kids to nature and helps them find adventure in their own backyard. Free to residents of Missouri.
A monthly publication about conservation in Missouri. Started in 1938, the printed magazine is free to residents of Missouri.
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a prescribed burn workshop 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, in the Conservation Room at the Bass Pro Shop store in Independence, 18001 Bass Pro Drive.
The workshop will teach private landowners and property managers how to use fire with prescribed burns to reduce unwanted vegetation. Properly used, fire is a tool to boost native woodlands, grasses and wildflowers that contribute to healthy habitat for wildlife. Fire is also a tool in grazing land management.
Workshop topics will include how to plan a prescribed burn, safety measures, equipment and how to achieve desired results.
Participants are asked to register for the workshop by calling 816-228-3766.
