JOPLIN, Mo. – Watching birds at feeders is a great way to learn about the different bird species we have in this area and it’s an activity the entire family can get involved in.
Learn more about some of the birds commonly seen in Missouri’s backyards and how you can draw them to your yard at the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) program “Birds: Attracting Backyard Birds” Nov. 2 at MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation and Education Center. This free program, which is for ages 5-up, will be 1-2:30 p.m. Each family attending this program will receive one hanging platform birdfeeder to assemble and take home to help begin their birdwatching adventures. People can register for this program at https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/169906.
MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center is located at 201 W. Riviera Drive in Joplin. For more information about upcoming programs, call 417-629-3434.
