Bigflower coreopsis (Coreopsis grandiflora)

This patch of bigflower coreopsis (Coreopsis grandiflora) thrives on the Conservation Department's Niawathe Prairie near Lockwood in southwestern Missouri. Look for the showy yellow flowers May through July in prairies, glades, thickets and dry open woods. -- Paul Childress
