Celandine Poppy

Although rare in Missouri, the celandine poppy is abundant at the Conservation Department's Engelmann Woods Natural Area, 6 miles east of Labadie on Highway T in Franklin County. The area's three-quarter mile trail winds through woods containing celandine poppy. The plant can also be found in moist valleys or along streams in central and southeastern Missouri counties. -- Jim Rathert
